The Kent & East Sussex Railway is one of the South East’s top tourist attractions and one of England’s leading heritage railways. Welcoming a large number of visitors each year, the K&ESR needs lots of care and attention. It’s an exciting time for the K&ESR and we’re looking for a customer-focused person who’ll bring energy, commitment and passion to our railway – we’re going places!

If you have exacting standards, with a smile every day and a great sense of pride, come and help us keep this special place clean, tidy and well-kept!
As a member of our front line cleaning team based at Tenterden Town Station, you'll go out of your way to help others and to make our railway an extra special place to visit. You’ll turn your hand to all sorts of cleaning, ensuring our stations and trains are presented to the best possible standard & kept in good working order - a ‘customer comes first’ attitude is imperative. You’ll be working both inside & outside (so you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions and have the ability to climb into carriages when berthed in sidings), with Bank Holiday and weekend working forming part of the normal working pattern.

To be fantastic in this role you’ll need to:

• be hardworking
• have excellent attention to detail
• have a willingness to learn new skills
• be proactive with a can-do attitude
• be enthusiastic
• have a willingness to get involved
• have a great eye for detail
• be consistently thorough in your approach

Experience of working in a heritage organisation with volunteers would be advantageous. This post is a fixed term (to 02/01/17) zero hours contract, with hours offered in line with the seasonal nature of the K&ESR. £7.20 per hour
